In 2006 Steve was the North East Winner of UKTV Foods Local Food Hero where the beef received high praise;
Gary Rhodes - "Beef with a flavour to die for"
Brian Turner championed Steve commenting what he does is "head and shoulders above the rest"
Our products were on national television again in 2009 on BBCs Great British Menu where both North East Contenders, Ian Matfin and Kenny Atkinson used our beef and lamb. Michelin starred Marcus Wareing was clearly very impressed with the Fillet dish served up by Ian Matfin whilst one of the judges, Oliver Peyton, described the beef as "the best beef ever presented to him in any competition".
Kenny Atkinson went on to cook his starter for the Homecoming Diner, a dish created in the judgeing phase using our Fillet Steak.
Northumbrian Quality Meats and Steve also feature in Terry Laybournes book 'A Quest for Taste' and Steve was one of Rick Steins original Food Heroes.
Monkridge Hill Farm is located near the village of Otterburn in the high scenic hills of Northumberland. The farm of 750 acres of mainly high hill land, is managed on a traditional, extensive basis - In very much the same manner it would have been centuries ago.
